HOGENAKKAL FALLS

Hogenakal Falls or Hogenakkal Falls is on Kaveri River. Situated in Tamil Nadu in the Dharmapuri District, around 46 km from Dharmapuri town and180 km from Bangalore, the Hogenakkal Falls is often called the "Niagara of India". It is a very popular tourist attraction and is also famous for medicinal baths and hide boat rides.

Carbonatite rocks are found in this site and are considered to be the oldest specimens, not only in South Asia but also in the whole world. This falls is also a site for proposed drinking water generating project.

SILVER CASCADE FALLS

Silver Cascade Falls, one of the most famous waterfalls, is the first attraction that unfolds to tourist, located on the Madurai - Kodaikanal road, on way to Kodaikanal. This waterfall is the result of excess water in the Kodai Lake, which comes down as a fall. Silver Cascade Falls is located at a distance of around 8 km from Kodaikanal. Considered to be an ideal location for nature lovers, this falls is 180 ft high. Owing to the presence of various minerals in the water of this fall, taking a bath in this fall is refreshing. In addition, this fall also serves as a halting point for vehicles and tourists as there are several shops dotted around, which sell fruits and other forest products.

KILLIYUR FALLS

Killiyur Falls, located at a distance of 3 km from the Yercaud Lake, is one of the most beautiful waterfalls. The best time to make a visit to this lake is after the southwest monsoon or the northeast monsoon. From a height of 300 ft, the water of Yercaud Lake along with the water from Shevaroy Hills falls into the Killiyur valley. An experienced trekker takes duration of an hour to trek through the forests from the lake to the bottom of the falls.

ST CATHERINE FALLS

Catherine Falls is one of the beautiful tourist locations in the region that features a stream of water falling from an altitude of 250 ft. Known as St. Catherine's Falls, the waterfall is located in the outskirts of the town. Tourists can also witness the beautiful waterfall from the top of Dolphin's Nose, advancing on a motorable road to the top of the Catherine Falls. From this extreme point, the waterfall flows down and creates a pool of water beneath on the fall.

LAWS FALLS

Laws Falls is one of the popular tourist locations that features a beautiful waterfall. The water falls from an altitude of 180 ft, creating a pool of water on the fall. Located on Coonoor-Mettupalayam road, travellers can advance to the site from Coonoor, which is 7 km from Laws Falls. A popular sight for tourists, Laws Falls is named after Col. Law, who traced the water path and also constructed the Coonoor Ghat. Coonoor Ghat is a beautiful watercourse on the Coonoor river, joining junction with the Mettupalayam Ghat Road. The spring fall is positioned at a distance of 5 km from Coonoor at the middle of Coonoor and Kateri rivers.

AGAYA GANGAI WATERFALLS

The Agaya Gangai Waterfall in Kolli Hills gushes down from a height of 300 ft into the River Aiyaru. The waterfall lies very close to the Arappaleeshvarar temple and is surrounded by mountains on all sides. This site is suitable for trekking and is best visited during the monsoon season.
