Situated in the north eastern side of Goa, Chorla Ghat is a monsoon paradise for travelers. The green deciduous forest and meandering monsoon fed streams offer stunning looks. Bordering the Western Ghats, this place is getting popular as a weekend getaway for its biodiversity. While Goa is more about beaches and historical attractions, this place is more about greenery.
 
The Twin Vajra Waterfalls and Peak of Lasni Temb are two popular attractions in this region. Tourist can engage in jungle walks, hiking and trekking.

Medicinal Springs is a stream believed to have curative properties. Located at Mottant, these springs are an ideal spot for picnics, where tourists mainly take bath in the medicinal water. Tourists can reach these springs by following the narrow road after the Bom Viagem Convent.

FORT AGUADA

FORT AGUADA

Fort Aguada is a Portuguese fort, which was constructed in 1612 on the Sinquerim Beach. The sole purpose behind building this fort was to guard the region from the Dutch and Marathas. At the site of the original fort, Fort Aguada Beach Resort has been built.

PANJIM

PANJIM

Panjim means the ‘land that does not flood’. During the rule of the Portuguese in Goa, Panjim was just a landing stage with custom housing facilities and was surrounded by marshy swampland. However, in the year 1843, it became a capital.

Although the rulers and Viceroys built some popular buildings and heritage sites, but the overall development was not up to the mark and the main reason for that can be attributed to frequent natural calamities. It was because of these the Portuguese nobles preferred to set their mansions in the countryside than the city.
